Once wedding season is over, I usually launch right into the holiday season! Starting in November, holiday parties, Christmas weddings and other holiday events fill up my calendar and it’s an exciting time of year for me. I definitely enjoy decorating Christmas trees for both corporate and private clients and for holiday parties. As part of the décor, I also dress planters and wreaths, which are typically decorated in fresh green.
This year, one of my hotel clients is hosting a client open house for the holiday season. I will be dressing up the foyer and one of the function rooms with all their Christmas décor. For another hotel, I will also be decorating the ballroom for Christmas. Their décor changes from year-to-year and this year, they will be renting a tree from me. I will also be incorporating ceiling décor over the dance floor, which is going to look spectacular! I will also be decorating the walls with wreaths to give the room that warm and inviting feel.
For Christmas weddings, the décor can be helped by the season, as both the ceremony and reception venues may likely be decorated for Christmas already. Festive centrepieces, featuring Christmas flowers like poinsettias, or candle centrepieces with pine comb wreaths, make a beautiful addition to any Christmas wedding. You can also use fake snow to bring the outside in.
The most popular colour for Christmas events and weddings is always red—it is the eternal colour of the season and is widely used for both Christmas weddings and tree décor. Of course, green is the perfect complement to red and gives that Christmas feel. Silver, white and other winter wonderland colours are also beautiful options.
