Vintage weddings are hot and this trend shows no signs of slowing down. Vintage weddings, inspired by the eras of the past, have a timeless quality that invokes feelings of nostalgia and comfort. They can be fun, yet elegant and classic. Vintage weddings can also be cost-effective and even eco-friendly. Many vintage weddings are inspired by the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. Vintage can span any period and can really mean anything.
Common vintage themes include jazz, art deco, or old Hollywood glamour. Other hot vintage trends are vintage nautical or vintage rustic themes. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, I recently attended a wedding show at the Hacienda Sarria in Kitchener, where I am a preferred vendor. For this event, I did a vintage décor inspired by the Victorian era. I used lace linens and lots of classic flowers such as roses, peonies, and English ivy. It was designed in a classic, comfortable, traditional style, and the vintage décor and flowers felt like items you would find in your garden. Lots of petals also detailed this Victorian look.
To complete the Victorian-inspired look we used the Hacienda Chiavari chairs with wooden backs, which added to the theme. To decorate the back of the chair we combined tulle with lace and added some feathers. I then made it into a type of fascinator decoration for the back of the chair. It looked amazing!
As a decorator for both wedding and corporate events, I really enjoy doing vintage décor! If you are looking for a vintage-themed wedding, I would be happy to assist with all of your decorating needs!
